Itinerary Tour Uros Islands, Taquile and Amantaní
This tour starts at 08:00 AM with the transfer from your hotel to the Port of Puno where you will take the motorboat with which you will first visit the floating islands of the Uros. On Lake Titicaca there are more than 50 floating islands, of which you will visit only two; on the first floating island, the tour guide will explain a bit about the people who live on the floating islands. After the explanation, you will have free time to walk around the island, take photos and spend a little more than an hour visiting two floating islands.
After this visit, you will continue the boat trip to Amantaní island, where you will spend the night in a family house. At the island's port you will meet the families, who will take you to their homes so you can settle in and have lunch. In the afternoon, they will take you to the meeting point for the hike (optional) to the highest point of the island (the Pachatata temple), located at 4,150 m a.s.l., 13,600 feet.
At night, the families organize a party for their visitors, they will also provide you with the island's traditional costume to participate in the party; this activity is “optional”.
The next day, after breakfast, the families will take you to the port to say goodbye, and then depart for Taquile island. The last place you will visit will be Taquile island, known for its weavers. On the island you will enjoy a pleasant walk; during this walk you will visit the main square which is at 3,950 m a.s.l., 12,960 feet. There you will have free time to visit the craft shops and see the island's textiles. You will also visit a local family where you will learn a bit about Taquile and its people. After this, you will continue the walk to the island's second port and return to the city of Puno, ending the tour at approximately 3:30 pm.
